RECENT PROJECTS

Below are some brief highlights of recent assignments.

Transition Programme

The programme was to transition data centre facilities into a managed hosting environment connected with new infrastructure provided by internal resource as well as various third parties.  This programme had a budget in excess of £5m.

Contract negotiation, pricing negotiations and governance implementations were key success factors.

Implementation at a technical level level delivered a new WAN, LAN and SAN, which was complemented with a new Service Delviery, all designed, developed and implemented by Empachal Solutions.

New data Centre vendors were selected and exisiting equipment was migrated.

Desktop Rollout

Empachal Solutions led a team of specialists to upgrade laptops and desktops from Lotus Notes v7 to v8.5 for more than 4,200 users at a well know retail company.  The project introduced roaming capability and data vault management to users..

As the project had been inflight for 4 months, Empachal Solutions inherited many issues and risks from the previous management and had to resolve, document and implement new standards and processes for the Project Team.

Lotus Notes to Exchange

Working along side the PMO, Empachal Solutions ran a 2 year project to design, prove and implement an Exchange infrastructure to an Investment Bank.

Due to the high risk, a proof of concept was required by the client, which successfully secured the final budget for the implementation and migration of more than 2000 users across 28 countries.

New Data Loss Prevention software was deployed and provided future cost saving opportunities to the client.

A mobile solution was selected and implemented in parallel to the email clients.

Domain Consolidation

A major architectural project was undertaken to migrate the 27 European Lotus Notes domains into a single European Domain and eventually into a consolidated data centres.

Working closely with the European Administration teams, Empachal Solutions was able to seemlessly migrate each domain, preserving security and functionality at local levels.

The final part of the project was the recertification of 18,500 users around Europe.

Extensive travel around Europe was required for this project.
